Inspiring Hope & Resiliency In the Face of Fear
Together We Can RISE!
Choose Calm, Compassion, & Community
I've seen so much fear, anxiety, and separation amongst clients and loved ones, alike. Rightfully so! We are in one of the most challenging times our modern society has been a witness of. But let's remember that we can choose calm and caution over fear, we can choose compassion and community over being closed off. Fear is also a virus - an infection that reaches mind body and spirit. Fear increases cortisol. Chronically elevated levels of cortisol impairs sleep and decreases our immune system.
So let's reframe this situation and find the silver lining. "10% of life is what happens to us, 90% is how we respond." ~ Charles Swindoll
There is much we can do to create a blessing in this situation and boost our health and fulfillment as well....
Time in nature is good for our body, minds and good for our spirit
Expressing kindness for others - seek to understand before placing judgement
Creative activities
More family time - explore board games, yard games, dance party, karaoke, etc.
Prayer, meditation, and spiritual practices
Joyful movement and activity
Laughter is good medicine too - laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies
Gratitude -we can't be grateful and fearful at the same time. List out all the things you are grateful for during this time (a roof over your head, frozen veggies, time with loved ones, etc) and really FEEL that appreciation!
There are so many things we can't control in the current health, financial and political situations that we've been thrown into, but we can always control how we respond. And just remember, whatever happens, we'll be able to learn and become stronger for.
