Warm, baked apples with cinnamon is one of my favorite healthy desserts (besides dark quality chocolate!). It reminds me of the crisp air in the fall; the fall colors of reds, oranges and yellows in the landscape, and the smells and flavors of apple orchards!
This recipe is not only comforting, but it’s a great dessert to indulge on and include in your regular detox regimen! Whether that’s an official detox you’re doing (Ry and I do a Metagenics detox program twice yearly) or if it’s just part of your regular health support. You’ll love how simple this recipe is and better yet how warm and fuzzy it makes you feel inside!
INGREDIENTS:
2 small apples (or pears)
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat over to 350 degrees. Core apples and peel only the top 1/3 of the skin.
Place in baking pan, pour water over it and sprinkle with cinnamon
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until soft and juicy
